Good friends and family. What more can I asked for when celebrating my 45th birthday? It was at Rick’s Café Casablanca at One Bangsar for a party of 12 adults and a one-year old girl. Four others couldn’t make it. One flew to Jakarta for a business meeting while the other was on duty travel to Sydney and Brisbane, another was stuck at work and the fourth could not be contacted on the phone.
The party planner was none other than the other half. He had my favourite things at the party. Lilies and candles adorned the dinner table. Seats were assigned. Names were written in silver on a little black tag and clipped with a tiny wooden peg, with a frangipani on it.
Food was good, albeit a little slow, but the company was par excellence.
